How is IDS priced?
A platform fee plus a rate per active driver — a driver who logged work that month. Office, dispatch and shipper-portal users are unlimited and free. You can see the model on this page, and the figures are the figures — we publish them so you can forecast your own bill.
What does “never metered” mean?
Route optimization, the shipper portal, notifications, barcode scanning, proof-of-delivery photos, the customer tracking page and support are all included — never billed per use. Every one of those is a documented meter or paywall at a named competitor.
Can you move us off our current system without downtime?
Yes. The IDS Switch brings your data across — customers, addresses, pricing tables, EDI feeds — and rebuilds your reports, then runs the new system in parallel with your old one until you’re ready to cut over. It’s a migration and a change-management process, not a rip-and-replace.
Do you handle returns and reverse logistics?
Returns are a first-class, billable movement in IDS — raised by a driver or a shipper, linked to the original order, with condition and custody captured at the door. It’s the clearest thing IDS does that the rest of the field doesn’t.
How do you prove chain of custody for regulated goods?
Every handoff is recorded in an append-only, custody-scan audit trail; proof of delivery is milestone-locked (signature, photo, reference, in order) with device-authoritative, tamper-evident timestamps — and it all holds even when the driver is offline.
Is IDS owned by a private-equity firm?
No. IDS has been founder-run since 2007 and is independent — the last founder-led, courier-only platform among the systems that were rolled up into private-equity firms and ERP giants. That independence is why we can reinvest in the product and never meter the essentials.
