This notice covers this website, www.idsapp.com — what happens when you browse it, what we measure, and what is stored on your device. It sits alongside our main Privacy Policy, which covers our dispatch software and the IDS CoStop driver app. Where the two overlap, this notice is the more specific one for the website.

The short version

• We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. That is the only third-party service on this site.
• We do not run advertising, ad retargeting, social media trackers, or session recording.
• We do not sell personal information, and we never have.
• If you fill in the contact form, that message comes to us by email. Nothing else is done with it.

What we collect when you browse

Server logs. Our web host records standard request information — IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system, and the page that referred you. These logs keep the site running and let us investigate errors and abuse. They are kept for a short period and then discarded.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, how long people stay, roughly where in the world visitors are, and whether they arrived from a search engine, a link, or typed the address. Google Analytics reports this to us in aggregate. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and we have not enabled Google’s advertising or audience-sharing features.

Google Analytics is provided by Google LLC and involves transferring information, including your IP address, to Google. Google acts as our data processor for this purpose. You can read how Google handles this information at policies.google.com/privacy.

Contact form. When you submit the form on our contact page, we receive the name, email address, company and message you typed, and we use them to reply to you. The message is sent to our own mailbox. It is not added to a marketing list and you will not be signed up for anything.

Cookies and similar storage

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. This site uses two kinds, and no others.

Analytics cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<id>. They hold a randomly generated number that lets Google tell a returning browser from a new one, so that ten visits by one person are not counted as ten people. They expire after two years.

Language preference. When you choose a language using the switcher, your browser stores that choice locally under the name ids-lang. This is not a cookie and is never sent to us or to anyone else — it stays in your browser so the site opens in the language you picked. Clearing your browser data removes it.

That is the complete list. There are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts beyond Google Analytics.

How to opt out

• Browser setting. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies for a specific site. Doing so for www.idsapp.com stops the analytics cookies. The site will still work normally.
• Google’s own opt-out. Google publishes a browser add-on that disables Google Analytics everywhere you browse: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
• Do Not Track. Browsers send this signal inconsistently and there is no agreed standard for honouring it, so we do not claim to respond to it. The two options above do work.

Legal basis and your rights

We are a Canadian company and handle personal information under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Our basis for website analytics is our legitimate interest in understanding whether the site is useful and in keeping it working. Our basis for handling what you send through the contact form is responding to your own request.

You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Write to support@idsapp.com and we will respond. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and would prefer that we not run analytics on your visit at all, tell us and we will confirm how to block it.

Children

This website is aimed at businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this notice

If we add a service that collects anything new, we will update this page and change the date at the top before that service goes live.
