IDS Internet Dispatch Services Ltd Last updated: August 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how IDS Internet Dispatch Services Ltd (“IDS”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website (idsapp.com), our dispatch software and services, and our mobile application for delivery drivers, IDS CoStop (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Who we are

IDS Internet Dispatch Services Ltd 150 – 233 West 1st St North Vancouver, BC V7M 1B3, Canada Email: support@idsapp.com

IDS provides dispatch and delivery-management software to courier and transportation companies (“carriers”). If you use IDS CoStop as a driver, your account is provided to you by your carrier, and much of the information described below is processed by IDS on that carrier’s behalf.

Information we collect

Account information. When an account is created for you, we collect information such as your name, username, work email address, phone number, and the carrier you drive for. We do not require your home address to use IDS CoStop.

Delivery and shipment information. In the course of providing dispatch services, the Services process shipment details such as pickup and delivery addresses, package descriptions and piece counts, delivery status, timestamps, recipient names, and proof-of-delivery records including signatures and photos captured at pickup or delivery.

Location information (IDS CoStop). See “Location data in the IDS CoStop driver app” below. Location collection in the app is tied to your work shift and is explained in the app before you enable it.

Device and technical information. When you use the Services we may collect technical information such as your IP address, device model, operating system version, app version, unique device identifiers used for push notifications, and diagnostic logs used to keep the Services working reliably.

Website information. If you visit idsapp.com, we collect the information you submit through contact or support forms, and standard web server logs.

Location data in the IDS CoStop driver app

IDS CoStop is a tool for working delivery drivers, and reporting your position to your dispatcher while you are on shift is one of its core functions. Here is exactly how it works:

  • The app collects your device’s precise location only while you are signed in and on shift. Starting a shift is an action you take in the app, and location tracking is a continuation of that action.
  • While you are on shift, the app runs a visible foreground service (you will see a persistent notification) and periodically reports your position to your carrier’s dispatch system so dispatchers can see driver positions, assign work, and estimate arrival times.
  • Tracking stops when your shift ends or you sign out. The app does not request or use Android’s background location permission, and it does not track you when you are off shift.
  • Your location is shared with your carrier (the company you drive for) as part of the dispatch service. It is also processed by Google Maps Platform services (geocoding, routing, and maps) to provide navigation and route features in the app.
  • We do not sell your location data, and we do not use it for advertising.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including dispatching, routing, proof of delivery, and driver-position reporting to your carrier;
  • provide customer and technical support;
  • send service notifications, such as new-shipment alerts, through push notification services;
  • maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the Services, including fraud prevention and audit records;
  • comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use personal information for third-party advertising or ad targeting.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the Services:

  • With your carrier. If you use IDS CoStop as a driver, your work activity in the app — including your on-shift location, delivery statuses, signatures, and photos — is shared with the carrier that provides your account. Your carrier’s own privacy practices govern its use of that information.
  • With service providers. We use third-party providers for hosting, push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging, a Google service), mapping and routing (Google Maps Platform), payment processing for carrier accounts, and similar functions. These providers process information only to perform services for us.
  • For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of IDS, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers. If IDS is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

We do not and will not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as the related account is active and as needed to provide the Services. Shipment and proof-of-delivery records are retained on behalf of carriers as business records, for as long as the carrier’s service agreement and applicable law require. Diagnostic logs are retained for short periods and then deleted or anonymized.

Your choices and rights

  • Access and correction. You may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you by emailing support@idsapp.com. If your account is provided by a carrier, we may direct your request to the carrier or work with them to fulfill it.
  • Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by emailing support@idsapp.com from your account email, with the subject line “Account deletion request.” We will act on verified requests within 30 days, except for records we are required to keep by law or that carriers must retain as business records (such as completed delivery records), which are retained only as long as required.
  • Location. You can stop location collection at any time by ending your shift or signing out of the app, or by revoking the location permission in your device settings (the app’s shift features will not function without it).
  • Push notifications. You can disable notifications in your device settings.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) between the app, our servers, and our service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.

Children

The Services are business tools intended for working adults. They are not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users

IDS is a Canadian company and the Services are operated from Canada. Information may be processed in Canada and in the countries where our service providers operate. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes affecting how the IDS CoStop app handles personal information will also be communicated through the app or to carriers.
